Support our teachers
Our teachers are the heart of every classroom. I'll fight to make sure they have the resources, training, and respect they need to succeed for our students.
I'm Dr. Tammyette Thomas — a mother, educator, and business owner running for School Board District 6 because every child in Duval County deserves a quality education, strong teachers, safe schools, and real opportunities to succeed.
Six commitments, built on more than 20 years in education and workforce development across our community.
Our teachers are the heart of every classroom. I'll fight to make sure they have the resources, training, and respect they need to succeed for our students.
Every student deserves a strong academic foundation. I'll push for high standards and real support so we keep strengthening achievement and student outcomes across District 6.
Having run my own vocational school and trained professionals for over 20 years, I'll expand career and workforce-readiness programs that give every student a practical pathway to a good job.
Families deserve to know how and why decisions get made. I'll promote real transparency and accountability in district decisions and keep parents informed every step of the way.
Children learn best when they feel safe. I'll work to ensure every school is a safe, secure, and welcoming place where students and staff can thrive.
Strong schools are built on strong relationships. I'll build stronger partnerships between schools, parents, and the community so we raise our children together.
I am running for School Board District 6 because I believe every child in Duval County deserves access to a quality education, strong teachers, safe schools, and opportunities that prepare them for success in life.
As a mother of three children who all attended public schools, I have seen firsthand the impact that education has on a child's future. As an educator, business owner, healthcare professional, and former college instructor, I have spent my career training, mentoring, and helping others reach their full potential — and I want to bring that same commitment to the students, parents, teachers, and families of Duval County.
For more than 20 years, I have worked in education and workforce development — training healthcare professionals, teaching at the college level, and operating my own vocational school. These experiences have shown me the importance of strong academic foundations, career readiness, and practical pathways to success.
I am not running because I am a politician. I am running because I am a mother, educator, business owner, and community leader who believes our children deserve advocates who understand both education and real-world career opportunities. Together, we can ensure that every school, every classroom, and every student has the opportunity to thrive.
"Our children are not just our future — they are our responsibility today."
